Hitachi Sumitomo was created in 2002 when Hitachi and Sumitomo merged. The first cranes developed were given the name SCX, a combination of the names SC and CX that Sumitomo and Hitachi used as type designation. The head office is located in Shanghai (Japan). Hitachi Sumitomo built crawler cranes with a lifting capacity between 40 and 600 tons. In 2018, the new brand new HSC Cranes was introduced.
